LOCATION
Horfield is a suburb about 3 miles north of the centre of Bristol
Muller Road is a main arterial route from Gloucester Road
(A38) at Horfield Common to East Bristol and the M32.(access to M4 & M5)
Horfield is a residential area built pre 1914 with later developments into the
1930's. During 1998 two of the local churches, (the Salvation Army and
Horfield Methodist) and the nearby Ashley Down Infant and Junior School
celebrated their centenaries. People in Horfield are mainly employed in
offices, retail trade, engineering, education, the local hospital and health
centres and social services.
There are two infant and junior schools nearby and two senior schools about a mile away. There are also colleges for further education. Bristol University and the University for the West of England are approximately two miles away. We have an increasing number of students now residing in the area. Many houses as they become vacant are let out to students.
The entrance to Horfield United Reformed
Church is in Downend Road
